I have been an avid subscriber to Glossybox for a while now. I love that it feels like Christmas every month when you receive that beautiful little box full of treats and surprises. I was upset when I received my January box and alas, this yummy smelling Jason lip balm was broken. I could not sample it....or attempt to eat it, as it smells a lot like after eights. Yum.
I left my review on the website, explaining that I loved the scent however it was broken so I could not use it. I thought nothing of it and a couple of weeks later I receive some mail and much to my surprise it was indeed a new working lip balm from the Glossybox team. I was thrilled and have been using it everyday since. It is now my go to lip balm. Sorry Carmex. My lips feel hydrated and delicious and I would honestly recommend this product to everyone.
I guess I'm trying to say thank you Glossybox.

On my nails is Nail inc Porchester Square.

New York Fashion Week is almost over, which means it's almost time for London! I am very excited to be able to go to the Felder Felder show this coming Friday. It will be a treat to be watching the show rather than working it! Normally I am backstage throwing clothes on models, pinning clothes to models and squeezing shoes on models! So I am excited to be able to experience it from a seat!
Felder Felder have been one of my favourite designers for a while now, they are still fresh to the fashion world but I believe there is more and more demand to get a seat at their show, so I feel very lucky. They started their label in 2006 after graduating from Central St Martins and already have many devoted fans.
I love how they bring a dark rocky vibe into their collections but still keeping the shapes and styles feminine. I love the clash of soft against hard, the chiffon printed fabrics and the gorgeous collection of jackets they always seem to have!
If you are not making it to the show, do not fear as this year it will be streamed live through the London Fashion Week website. 2pm. Friday 15th February.
If you are yet to gaze your eyes among their collections, please do, I am sure you will not regret.

Photos 1, 11 & 12 are from On/Off
All others are my own.

I cannot begin to explain how amazing it was to get to meet the lady herself, let alone work personally with her on her first show in 30 years. Zandra Rhodes was pretty much the reason why I decided to go into fashion when I little. It was most definitely a once in a lifetime experience.
This show was a retrospective of her previous collections and it was an honour to be able to take part in a show like this. Zandra Rhodes herself even gave me a lesson on her secrets of ironing, she advised me to spit on the iron and if it sizzled, it was hot enough to start ironing. True story. However, I could not bring myself to do this with vintage Rhodes!
The show was packed, the queue was out the door, the clothes were beautiful and the shoes were insane.
Everything you would want from Paris.

Over the next few posts I will be sharing my Paris Fashion Week experiences.
For me, a small town English girl, this was rather exciting for me.
I have a kind of secret double fashion life and I rarely get to share this with people, until now that is.
I enjoy seeing the industry from behind the scenes, it's interesting to see what really goes on in comparison to what people think goes on.

Yang Du, Paris Fashion Week February 2012.

Okay, so I did mention how backdated these were, but as I haven't been blogging for a year I feel I have lots to share.
Last February, I had the amazing opportunity to go to Paris and work at a number of shows the On/Off team were putting on during Fashion Week. This is one of four posts sharing my experiences with the world!
So, I did go there to work, however for the Yang Du show I got treated and asked if I would like to watch the show instead. Of course I said yes and had an amazing experience of a designer I am not so familiar with.
I wouldn't say I would personally wear these creations out of the house as my style is slightly more simplified but the show was inspiring. It was more like a theatre production than a fashion show.
The theme, as you can see from the photos, was a interpretation of Noah's Arc. The models came down two by two in brightly coloured animal faced knits whilst in-between featured performances from Ryan Styles.
I have to say, it was the strangest most intriguing thing I had ever seen. The kind of thing you know you shouldn't be watching but you just can't keep your eyes off no matter how hard you try.
And to be honest, anything with an animal face on has my vote...

Backstage at Lyle & Scott.

Had the wonderful opportunity to work at the Lyle & Scott show last year. The collection was full of bright sweaters and trousers combined with the unmistakable L&S edge.
I especially liked that the main model looked identical to Penn Badgley....never a bad thing.
I mean, not that we look at the models, it's obviously all about the clothes ladies...right?

So my Love/Hate topic of today is the gym, I'm pretty sure we all have our own opinions of that dreaded yet wonderful place.
I have always enjoyed food and cooking and have always put this before having a perfectly slender beautiful body. Although I may have enjoyed the food, I no longer (& haven't for a while) enjoy the way I look.
So this year I decided to make a change, I took up running and I actually realised I quite enjoy it! I stuck to a very healthy diet and managed to shift a stone of my unwanted weight. I then decided to join the gym and it was going so well! I went pretty much every day or every other for an hour to three hours at a time. Went to all kinds of classes, swimming and the regular gym. I stuck to this for about a month and a half and then I don't know what happened.
My gym buddy couldn't go for a couple of weeks so I decided I would have a bit of a break also and I pretty much haven't been since. This was 2 months ago...
I have got lazy again and put almost all the weight back on. It's not that I don't like the gym, I love it once I'm there however I hate it when I'm curled up in bed or lazing around the house. I just keep thinking I'll go tomorrow which NEVER happens.
I need my motivation back and I need to get back on track. I just don't know how to do this.
It also sucks as I am paying £2459590000 (not literally) every month to not go to the gym.
Must find inspiration!!!

So a few of the perks of still living at home is that I have a few spare pounds which would of normally gone to some sort of bill.
Instead this week, I have decided to just blow it all. This is mostly down to Llymlrs, going through her blog the other day I found lots of cute little websites that I haven't come across before.
For anyone that doesn't know me or does in fact, I am a pretty simple dresser, I don't normally go for prints or bright colours. I enjoy black, nude & grey.
HOWEVER I do love to accessorize, sometimes the crazier the better.
Shoes, rings, watches, cuffs, bags.
Leopard, studs, skulls, stones, sparkles.
I recently came across these little beauties & am awaiting their arrival....
The shoes need no explanation, they are to die! 2 of my favourite things on one of my favourite things!!!
I like every other blogger needed to get their hands on the YSL arty ring, however my bank balance wouldn't allow it. So found that Love Hearts and Crosses did a pretty good copy of it which is very affordable!
Also been craving to purchase something from House of Harlow, each item is absolutely beautifully boho.
Finally came across the winning item which was the gold cuff!
The only thing I am upset about is that the majority of these have to be shipped from America & may take up to 4 weeks! Ahhhhhh...!
I'm pretty sure they are worth the wait.

Peanut Crunch Sandals: Kandee Shoes. Armour Chain Ring: Romwe. Silver & Turquoise Chunky Stone Ring: Gold & Black Chunky Stone Ring: Purple Stone Druzy Ring: Silver Feather Friendship Bracelet: Silver Bird Skull Necklace: ALL Love Hearts and Crosses. House of Harlow Gold Cutout Cuff: NastyGal.

So last week it was my little sisters 20th birthday & we decided to travel down to Bournemouth. Planned it out to be a nice relaxing day, sit on the beach, have a paddle in the sea & get something to eat. HOWEVER. It turned out to be an extremely stressful day! What should have been a 2 hour journey actually turned out to take us 5 HOURS!!! Was ridic.
The main turning for Bournemouth was shut so we had to major detour which was only made better by extreme gridlock for the majority of the way. This was not made any better by the fact that it was 30degrees outside & we had no aircon. Hideous.
When we finally arrived & my mother chose the appropriate parking we were rather fed up. The sun had decided to disappear & the beach was crazy busy!
So we decided to go for something to eat & found a pizza express nearby. We were the only customers in there so we figured the service would be amazing right? Wrong. The staff we less than enthusiastic & it took them 10 minutes to get a drink order!
Coming from the hospitality background I find this completely ridiculous & just plain rude (how I would of loved to be a mystery diner!).
We finally received our meals & moved on...
Luckily the sun had now come out & the beach had been vacated of most of the people, so we had a stroll along the beach.
I recently got an iphone & am in LOVE with the hipstamatic app as you can see! So expect this to be a slight signature of mine!
Also. Sorry another rant approaching!
The beach itself was actually really beautiful however what wasn't so beautiful was the fact that the beach had now been completely littered with everyones rubbish!!! What is it with the english?!? There's bins for a reason, it doesn't take much to carry your rubbish to the bin! If you went to a beach in France or Portugal or pretty much anywhere that wasn't in the UK you wouldn't see a single piece of litter!
No wonder the English have such a bad name!
{RANT OVER}

But yes, it turned out to be quite a nice day (minus the dramas).
